SEAN BAKALARSKI

19

A graduate of the class of 2002, Sean was a two-year varsity letterman who played on both sides of the ball during his career. Sean came into the Viking program as a freshman and very quickly showed a willingness to work at becoming a better player. He was an active participant in the summer 40-G program all four years at La Jolla. Sean played only receiver prior to his senior season. Due to a lack of experience in the defensive secondary, Sean sacrificed what was expected to be a great senior year at receiver and came over to the defensive side of the ball where he helped solidify a very inexperienced secondary. Sean’s unselfish attitude afforded his coach the opportunity put together a solid secondary notwithstanding a lack of experience in the group. Playing both corner and safety, Sean scored 139 defensive points in 2001. He was in on 50 tackles and intercepted two passes. He also broke-up two other passes and recovered a fumble. Sean’s contributions on both sides of the ball were very much appreciated by his coaches and he was awarded the 2001 Offensive Coaches Award. Pictures of Sean can be found in the 2001 photo section.
