A two-year varsity letterman and a graduate of the class of 2002, Matt was a starting wide receiver as a junior and a two-way starter his senior year. Matt was a big play receiver who averaged 21.4 yards per catch and finished his Viking career with 30 receptions for 643 yards and 6 touchdowns. His total receptions rank him number 7 on the school record list for career receptions. Matt’s big play ability was also evident on the defensive side of the ball. Playing in only eight games his senior year Matt scored 115 defensive points. He recorded 32 tackles broke up 6 passes and intercepted 4 others.  The four interceptions rank him number three for season interceptions in the school record book. After his senior year Matt was voted the team’s Most Valuable Offensive Player and was a Second Team All Western League selection. Matt also made the County All-Academic Team in 2001 with a 3.04 GPA.
